When it comes to your health, what are some ways to lower your health care cost? The best way to keep from going to the doctor is good body maintenance. Keeping your body fat and cholesterol down are two excellent ways of keeping your body healthy. So how do we keep our body fat down? Well that is easy; just lower your fat intake. Pay attention to the foods you eat, fat should not be more than 20% to 30% of your daily calorie intake, and less than 10% of your calories should come from saturated fat. This brings us to our next recommendation, calorie intake. Calorie intake should be weighed on whether you want to lose weight or maintain your current weight. When losing weight it is a good idea to lower your calorie intake gradually, so as not to put your body into shock, and feel like you are starving yourself. When cutting calories, be sure to eat plenty of protein, like chicken, turkey, fish and seafood. They are loaded with protein, and the good kind of fat. The protein will keep you feeling fuller longer, while you are eating less.Start by cutting your calories by 20%, so for example if you are used to 3500 calories a day, cut down to 2800. Now I know that sounds excessive, but it’s not that bad. There are tons of 100 calorie snacks, in the stores, my favorite is the 100 calories bags of popcorn, 2 ½ cups of popcorn popped, and it is a great tasting fulfilling snack.Always start your day off with a high protein breakfast, or a filling breakfast. Bagel with turkey sausage or bacon, egg-beater and a piece of low fat cheese is a great breakfast. Turkey burger with salsa for lunch, and always a high protein supper.
